A new research suggests that women need more sleep than men as a result of more complex activities in their brain.
Loughborough University’s research suggests that women are multitaskers. This leads to women requiring higher amounts of brain activity and using more regions of their brain than men. Hence, for the purpose of recovery of the brain, women require more sleep than men. Women usually require 20 minutes more of sleep than men.
But what if you are a man engaged in work that requires lots of mental activity? You need more sleep than the average male but still less than women. Another reason to hit the snooze button?
