Does the sight of bees scare you? Do you hate being stung by them? Then this might give you a new perspective.
Apitherapy is a branch of alternative medicine that uses honey bee products including honey, pollen, bee bread, propolis, royal jelly and bee venom for more energy and better body functions in humans.

You may know that raw honey is great for health but probably won’t know how powerful are other bee products (even bee venom) in overcoming a plethora of diseases.

Raw honey- Unfiltered and unpasteurized honey has antifungal and antiviral properties. It is also a powerful antibiotic that can fight infections burns and open wounds and combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria. These special properties are given to honey from the gut biomes of the bees that produce it which have a unique group of 13 Lactic Acid Bacteria (LABs). The LABs are high-performance pathogen killers that secrete protective compounds like hydrogen peroxide and fatty acids that destroy invaders and damaging microbes—including antibiotic-resistant MRSA. But beware of the sugar content you are consuming, do not take in more than a tablespoon of honey everyday.

Propolis- Propolis which is made from plant resins is like a multivitamin. It is used to treat treat wounds, burns, sore throats and stomach ulcers. Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester (CAPE) and Artepillin C found in Propolis fight Cancer and Inflammation. It improves atherosclerosis and reduces plaque and gingivitis. Also Propolis has more than 180 compounds like antioxidant polyphenols, magnesium, calcium, iron, and zinc, plus 16 amino acids and B vitamins.

Royal Jelly- Royal jelly is a nutrient rich mixture of protien, fats and sugar. All bee larvae eat it in small amounts but Queen Larva eats it throughout its lifetime and produces 1 million eggs meanwhile. 10-HDA, a faaty acid that enhances overall cognitive capacity( as it promotes neurogenesis) is only found in Royal Jelly. It contains Phospholipids that helps in impaired cognitive and motor function. Royal jelly is also a source of B vitamins, folate, biotin, inositol, pantothenic acid, acetylcholine, collagen, and vitamins A, C, D, and E, a wide variety of minerals, amino acids, and enzymes.

Bee Pollen- Bee pollen is 40% protien and is full of nutrients like royal jelly. You can desensitize yourself from plant based allergens by taking small amounts of bee pollen as a supplement.

Venon Therapy- Getting stung by a bee may not sound to be a good idea but under controlled settings this is known to boost your immune system. Bee venom is also known to improve thyroid function in Hyperthyroidism. It promotes arthritis medication in Rheumatoid Arthritis and decreases Arthritis related Edema. Use these biohacks but keep an eye on your fructose consumption.
Take care ! 🙂
